Sigiriya

 

Sigiriya is a giant rock in Sri Lanka with an

 ancient Palace built on top. A king named

 Kashyapa built it a long time ago to be his safe 

home.It is called Lion Rock because there are

 two huge lion paws carved into the stone.

Visitors can see beautiful ancient painting of

ladies on the side of rock.There is a Mirror Wall 

that was once so shing the king could see

 himself  in it.The gardens at the bottom are

 very old and have fountains that still work.

To get to the top,you have to climb about 1,200

steps up the side of the cliff.Today,it is a famous
