  ​ Sri Lanka provides free education to all students  from primary school through to the university  level.   The country maintains one of the highest  literacy rates in South Asia, with over 92% of  adults being able to read and write.   Schooling is  compulsory for all children, typically starting at age 5 and continuing until age 16.  The system is  organized into primary, junior secondary, senior  secondary, and collegiate levels.  Students sit for  two major national exams: the G.C.E. Ordinary  Level (O/L) and the Advanced Level (A/L).  Lessons  are conducted in three main languages: Sinhala,  Tamil, and English, depending on the school. ​In 2026, the government began introducing new  reforms to focus more on practical skills and  digital learning.  Most students wear a traditional  white uniform, which is a iconic symbol of the Sri  Lankan school system.

  I love going to the sea 🦭 . I feel happy when I am at the beach 🩴. I enjoy walking on the soft sand. I  like  listening  to  the  sound  of  the waves 🧏‍♀️ . I  often go to the beach with my friends 🤗🌟. I like to watch the beautiful sunset at the beach. The  fresh air at the  beach  makes  me feel  relaxed 🙇‍♀️💚. The beach is my favorite place to visit 🥺🌊 .

  A rainbow appears in the sky afer rain. It has  seven beautiful colors 😍. The colors are red, Orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Sunlight and water droplets make a rainbow 🌈. It looks like a colorful arc 😍🤗✨. We can see  it in the sky opposite the sun. A rainbow is a  natural phenomenon.It is very beautiful to the watch ❤.

  The moon shines in the night sky.It  moves around the Earth 🌍. The moon does not produce its own light🌟. It reflects light from the sun. There are different  phases of the moon 🌙. The full moon is very bright and beautiful ✨.People have traveled to the moon. The moon affects  the tides in the ocean 💚.  

  My favorite character is Miss Chapa Harshani. She is a dancing teacher by profession💃. I first met her in AL class. She is a very kind and  clever teacher. She is not only a teacher to me, sometimes she is also a mother and a good  friend 🥺❤. As she is friendly and pleasent  everyone  like her 🤗🎀. So I am lucky to learn  from a teacher like this ❤. I really love my  teacher 😊💚🌻.

  Rain falls from dark clouds ☁ . It makes the  ground wet and cool. I love the sound of  raindrops on the roof. Plants and trees need rain to grow.Sometimes rain comes with  thunder and lightning ⚡.  After rain,we might see a rainbow in the sky 🌈 . Rain can make the air smell fresh and clean. I like to stay inside  read when it rains ☔ .

  Reading books helps us gain a lot of knowledge  and information 🌻. It is a great way to improve our vocabulary and language skills. Books help to develop our imagination and creative  thinking. Reading regularly can reduce stress and help the mind relax. It improves our ability  to focus and concentrate on tasks. We can learn  about different cultures and history through  books 📚 . Reading keeps our brains active and  healthy as we grow older. Books are like quite  friends that provide us with great company.❤

  My favorite fruit is Avocado 🥑 . Avocado is   healthy fruit.It has a soft and creamy texture. The color of an avocado is green 💚.  It contains good fats for the body.People often use avocado  in salads 🥗  and sandwiches. It is also used to make guacamole. Avocado grow in warm  climates. Eating avocado can be good for ou r heart ❤ .

  During my free time I enjoy helping my mother  with the cooking 🍳 . I have learnt quiet a lot  from her and it's really enjoyable. I also do a  little bit of gardening during my leisure.I grow  plants in pots and love to see them flowering 🌻. Both these activities make me happy.In addition, I really like listening to  music and dancing 🎶💃 . Then my mind feels free.I prefer to spend my  free time with nature.💦🍃

  My grand father name is a Karolis.He is about  eighty five years old.His home town is Mahawa. He is a healthy person. His hobby is reading books📚.Even though he is old,his eyesight is not impaired 👀. He really likes sweet foods. He  lives happily with us. 🧙‍♂️❤️
